Dangerously Daydreaming

"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible." ~ T. E. Lawrence

Escapades in the North Cascades

As promised, here are some photos from the weekend adventures!  My lovely amiga K and I met up on Saturday to hike the Chain Lakes Trail – 7.5 miles of alpine majesty near awe-inspiring Mount Baker.  Our path wound along several lakes before a series of switchbacks took us over a mountain pass.  From there we descended into a verdant valley with more aquamarine-tinged and smooth-as-glass glacial lakes, carefully crossed a few icefields, and were met with picturesque views of the Cascade Range.  The sun came out for us, summer flowers were in full bloom, and our only deadline was to be back before sunset.  I really couldn’t do justice to the beauty of the Cascades without photos, so here are some shots from the day.

Well this is a coincidence! My wife and I were hiking Mount Work near where we live, and when we got to the summit, we had a clear view of Mt. Baker. Did you see us? We would have been waving. Amazing pics by the way. Also, what does 7.5 miles work out to in kms? I know, damn metric system!

Were you really? Too funny! It’s on my list to summit Baker one of these springs/summers. Just have to find a guide and rent ice gear. Did you get photos from your hike? And thank you, the place was just begging to be photographed. I think 7.5 miles would work out to around 12-13 kilometers. 🙂

Yes we did, but the photos are quite tame compared to what you’ve posted here. Better are the ones we took from the Sunshine Coast Trail a few weeks back. We also did Mt. Washington about a week later. Also not as nice as these pics, but nice! I’ll see if I can post them somewhere…
