Dangerously Daydreaming

"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible." ~ T. E. Lawrence

Running in Paradise

I made it to Maui! It’s such a different place from Oahu, with it’s own unique flavor and I love it.
Yesterday I went for a run at 6am, just before sunrise and to beat the heat of the day. It really was glorious! Despite that I was roasting at 70 degrees and with so much humidity, it was an amazing experience I’m excited to enjoy again tomorrow.
The best part was going for a cool-down by wading through the warm waves on the beach after the run.

Yesterday I jumped from those black rocks into the ocean – the 15 foot drop was so exhilarating! And today? We’re going parasailing!
Happy Monday, everyone!

maybe i’ll go moweee again some day … but i run EVERY DAY (on vacation, in general. wish i was on vacation a lot more) — but my first time in maui i happened upon two races. the first, starting in kahalui was a 10k going up and around the Iao Valley Needle. the second was a low-key affair “up country.” i treasure the t-shirt (now 30+ years old) from the Iao Valley 10k. i wore the faded thing a few years later and passed for kamaiana (sp?) a few times ’cause of it. sigh.

Maui is amazing, isn’t it? I had a hard time running there because of the humidity and heat (us Pac NWers just aren’t used to it!) so I can’t imagine running a 10k. Way to go! And it sounds like you made a great memory and walked away with a treasured souvenir too!
